Woodridge Ford Lincoln – History

Since 1983, Woodridge Ford Lincoln has been serving Calgary and area with exceptional  products and services. Woodridge Ford Lincoln, originally Southridge Lincoln Mercury, was established in 1983 when it was acquired by Gerry Wood, Dealer Principal of the Wood Automotive Group.

With humble beginnings, as one of only two Lincoln dealerships in Calgary, Woodridge Ford Lincoln has been a true pioneer of Ford and Lincoln vehicles in Western Canada!

Woodridge Ford Lincoln has since worked its way up to achieving the title of # 1 Ford Store in Alberta by volume. It has earned a reputation of exceptional customer service by maintaining an extremely knowledgeable staff of specialized technicians and offering an extensive parts inventory. Its $24 million state-of-the-art facility allows Woodridge Ford Lincoln to offer the best service with the most selection.

From the very beginning, no challenge was too great for Woodridge Ford Lincoln. Woodridge Ford Lincoln forged new paths for the automobile retail industry in Calgary, driven by Gerry Wood’s goal of excellence in every department. It was the first dealership in Calgary to open its service shop on the weekends, extending its ability to provide quality service to Calgarians. Woodridge Ford Lincoln led the way for Ford’s two-year leasing plan in Western Canada, a plan that has seen tremendous growth since its initiation. Approximately 10 years after its acquisition by Gerry Wood, Woodridge Ford Lincoln expanded to form a group – the Wood Automotive Group – that now encompasses five dealerships and a separate All-Makes Collision Centre facility.

Since its inception in 1983, Woodridge Ford Lincoln quickly evolved into one of the top ranked dealerships in Canada. Woodridge has received the President’s Award – the most prestigious award offered by Ford – more than 15 times in the last 27 years. The President’s Award is granted on the basis of sales volume and customer service. Gerry Wood was named Maclean Magazine’s “Dealer of the Year” in 1999, an honour that is reserved for only the very best. Most recently, Woodridge Ford Lincoln was hailed the second largest Ford and Lincoln dealer in Western Canada and the fifth largest in all of Canada.

The ride has not always been smooth and yet the dealership has always responded with honesty and integrity. When a critical manufacturer’s defect required the recall of certain Ford diesel-engine trucks, Woodridge Ford Lincoln responded by loaning used trucks to contractors and businessmen whose livelihoods depended on their vehicles. Furthermore, when the worst economic recession in more than 70 years hit in 2008, Woodridge Ford Lincoln stayed true to its mandate to be “ever-better, ever-forward”. The dealership managed not only to survive the recession, but to thrive in the midst of it, in large part due to its exceptional customer service which kept clients coming back.

    I just leased a 2014 Fiesta from Woodridge. A friend recommended Thomas Kerstrong to work with, and I couldn’t be happier with his service. He got right to the details that interested me and made sure I was totally informed. The process was totally quick and painless and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. I would recommend Thomas to any of my friends. I also wanted to make note the Donna in finances was a dream. She made everything happen to quickly and easily.

    I waited for a shuttle from approximately 4pm and the time is now 8:30pm. I have had to resort to using the train to try and get home while my car sits at the dealership. I would have to say that I can’t rate their customer service as I feel they haven’t enough to rate. They took my money and left me hanging. I have had other issues with this specific dealership: overcharges, refusal to honor their contact, and blatant rudeness from the managerial staff. Please consider this before you think of visiting this dealership. I recommend going to another.
